PQP Mem0

I really liked reading your amazing novel “The House of the Scorpion.” I enjoyed reading the adventurous journeys of Matt, with that subtle hint of science fiction rolled into it. My favourite part of the book was when Matt defeated the keepers at the orphanage. I thought it was great because Matt did something that the people around him praised him for. This made me feel good for him because he wasn’t used to this.

I think the part of the story when Matt stepped on the piece of glass could have used some more information. You could have dived in more on the details because it didn’t stick with me throughout the story. I also was left wondering when Matt got stuck in the hole with the whale bones. I was reading and forgot about how they got themselves into that mess. I would like to ask you why you chose to include the part when Matt was spying on El Patrons niece’s wedding. I don’t think it was that necessary.

One thing I would do to improve your amazing book, would be to take out some of the characters. There were a lot of things where the reader needed to know who was doing what. Sometimes I forgot who was being talked about. If you did this, I think that it would make the book a lot easier to read and comprehend. That would create a lot more pictures inside of the readers head.

Overall, I would like to say that you wrote a very good book, and you should be proud of it. I thoroughly enjoyed the novel. Keep up the good writing!

Car Donuts
To Friends:
“Ok,
so the craziest stuff went down yesterday guys! I was driving with Mark and Trevor
when we went to go do some donuts in a U of M parking lot. There was this one
with like 4 inches of ice on it, almost like that sketchy skating rink downtown!
We didn’t have anything better to do so we just started doing donuts and
fishtails. After about five minutes of spinning we heard a huge BANG! WE were
laughing so hard. I swear Trevor was so rattled his tongue was hanging out of
his mouth! Then a U of M security guard came up to our car and said,
“You
better get out of here before I call the cops.
“Sorry
sir. We mean no harm we were just trying to have some fun”
“Well,
I’ll let you off this time but you might want to get the back of your car looked
at!”
“I
didn’t care about it then, but I am so dead when my parents find out!”

To Parents:
“BRANDON JAMES HUTCHINGS. WHAT HAPPENED?”
“Well, Trevor and John and I were going to work-out at
the U of M gym when Trevor got the idea of going to do donuts in a parking lot.
It sounded like a good idea at the time, but now not so much. Anyways, I was
driving, and John was in the passenger seat. I was extremely careful to make
sure there were no poles or barricades to hit. I didn’t see one in the parking
lot so we went for it. I was totally under control and we were all having fun,
when we hit something. I was sure there was nothing in the parking lot, but
sure enough when I got out too see the car it was pretty busted.
“So
what, some Nome did it?”
“I
guess so. We hit a lamp post near the edge of the parking lot, but I didn’t see
one there before. I knew that you would not be impressed so I am telling the
truth. Sorry.”

Irrigation:
In 5500 B.C. Sumerians in Mesopotamia learned
to divert water from the Euphrates River to irrigate the farming fields. Irrigation was much more productive than waiting for rain fall to water the fields. This was a great invention due to the lack of rainfall at the time.
Enduring contribution:
The enduring contribution of irrigation
in Mesopotamia was that agriculture was made into a much more controlled typeof farming. This act carried through to this day in age and has had some more technological advances.

Autobiography

Brandon *********

Hey, I’m Brandon, but most people call me “Hutch.” I have a lot of things to tell
you about, but I’ll just list a few. To start, I’m a big time drummer. That’s
pretty much my life. Inside of school I play percussion in concert band and drums
in jazz band. Outside of school I take drum lessons and I’m in a rock band with
3 guys at leach. We play the occasional gig. Music is also a big part of my
life. I listen to rock, classic rock, country, and new hip/hop and pop. On top
of my musical life I am in Air Cadets.

I am a Corporal in my squadron. I am one of the top 3 cadets in my flight,
(Lancaster). In Cadets I have the ability to do biathlon, marksmanship, drill
team, camps, and most importantly, I can get my pilots license. For summer camps,
I fly out to Pen hold, Alberta and get paid $140 a week. To add to my busy
lifestyle, I also go to the best school ever!

I wake up every morning to attend classes at ****** junior high. I have tones of
friends there. My friends do everything with me. My favorite classes are Math,
Gym and Woods. I treat all my friends like family at Acadia, but for the ones
that that are not in my league, I have different opinions.

I don’t really care too much about what others think of me and my “SWAG.” I like
to be independent so I don’t really need their thoughts. I am a pretty chill
guy as most of my friends would say. I like to stay popular at school but I
hate hanging with the people that are full of them-selves. I think that I’m the
kind of guy that can be friends with everyone. With my opinion of others and
friends, I also follow my religion.

I find myself to be a pretty big Christian. I like to follow God because it helps
me grow and mature as a person. It makes me relaxed when I know he is on my
side. That’s where I get my “CHILLNESS” from. With that in mind I’d like to
tell you about my amazing family.

My family is the biggest part of my life. I have 1 Brother, 2 Parents, 2 Aunts, 2
Uncles, 2 Grandmas, 2 Grandpas, and 4 Cousins. My Brother is 17 and in Grade 12
at **Collegiate. My Mom works as a teacher’s assistant at **Collegiate. My Dad
is and Architect for Public Works Canada.
My family is awesome and I couldn’t ask for a better one! My family and
I all enjoy the following...

In case you didn’t know I love sports. I watch NBA, NHL, CFL, and MLB. I play on
the Volleyball team for ****** as a middle. When I play sports, my personality
really shows.

If you were to ask me about my personality, I would tell you my main three… Chill,
Independent, and Funny. If you were to watch my Volleyball practice you would
easily be able to notice I’m always pumped during sports. I also have some
goals that my personality will help me with.

My main goal is pretty far-fetched. I would love to be in a high paying contract
with my band. We would go on a world tour and become FAMOUS!!!
Well there you go, now you know all about me. So what’s your story?
